Due to Russia’s full-scale military aggression, approximately 6.8 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and became refugees.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the majority of Ukrainians found refuge in Germany – 1.2 million people. Poland took in about 1 million, and the Czech Republic – over 500,000.

Other European countries, such as Italy, Spain, and France, have also become major havens for Ukrainian refugees. However, a significant number of citizens are still searching for a safe place to live.

The UN notes that the majority of refugees are women, children, and the elderly who left Ukraine due to the fighting and danger to their lives.
