Umyerov: Ukrainian-made UAVs have covered more than 90% of the Defence Forces’ needs

Ukrainian drones met 96.2% of the Defence Forces’ needs in 2024.

This was stated by Defencr Minister Rustem Umyerov on Facebook.

In 2024, Ukraine significantly improved its defence-industrial complex, especially in the field of drones. 96.2% of all UAVs for the Defence Forces were of Ukrainian production.

«Thanks to orders from the Ministry of Defence for our domestic production, we are covering the main needs of the military while simultaneously reducing dependency on partner supplies,» the Defence Minister emphasized.

In particular, Ukrainian enterprises in 2024 manufactured and assembled:

• over 1.5 million FPV drones (together with SSRDI),
• strike copter bombers,
• kamikaze aircraft,
• reconnaissance wing drones,
• long-range deepstrike drones.

Umyerov underlines that these figures indicate a new level of efficiency in cooperation between the state and Ukrainian UAV manufacturers. Cooperation with domestic enterprises will be a priority in 2025.
