In the Sumy TRC, a 40-year-old man died from beatings

A 40-year-old local resident, Yevheniy Kryvodub, died at the Sumy Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support (TRC).

According to information provided by his aunt Nataliya Skachedub, the incident occurred on December 29 when Yevheniy informed his common-law wife over the phone that he had been taken to the TRC, passed the military medical commission, and was about to be sent to the front. After that, contact with him was lost.

The next day, the family learned that Yevheniy allegedly drank half a liter of vodka, felt unwell, and was taken to the hospital. However, later Nataliya found him in the regional hospital where she was informed that he had been brought in with a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma after surgery.

On December 31, the woman received notice of Yevheniy’s death. The TRC confirmed the fact of the injury but claimed it was received as a result of a beating by another man who was not a TRC employee.
