The shelling of Sumy regionhas increased fourfold compared to last year. The enemy is using new attack methods.
This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA), Volodymyr Artyukh, during a telethon broadcast.
Artiukh noted that in the border areas of Sumy region, there has been a significant increase in the number of shellings. Compared to last year, their number has increased fourfold.
"I must say frankly that we are recording more shellings—four times more. More FPV drones are being used, which were not present at all last year, and now there are more than 130. There are GABs, Shaheds, unmanned aerial vehicles," Artyukh noted.
At the same time, the head of the RMA commended the Ukrainian defenders, who continue to professionally fulfill their duties, mitigating the effects of the shellings and ensuring the safety of the civilian population in the region.
"I must highlight the professional actions of our air defense forces; they are working quite effectively," he said.
