Russian military shot Ukrainian soldiers. This happened on Friday, January 3, in the Donetsk region.
This was reported in the Telegram of the Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
According to the ombudsman, the incident occurred near the settlement of Neskuchne in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. According to preliminary data, Russian occupiers killed three Ukrainian prisoners of war. They were tied up and shot from behind.
Lubinets reminded that according to the Geneva Conventions, prisoners of war are under special protection, and no country has the right to torture, mistreat, or kill them. Despite this, Russia shows disregard for international norms.
"As the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, I once again appeal immediately to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations. These organizations must condemn this crime and exert pressure on the Russian side to stop such actions," wrote Lubinets.
