Canada will provide Ukraine with military aid worth over 300 million dollars

This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Canada following the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

“Ammunition remains one of Ukraine’s critical priorities, so today’s announcement includes an allocation of CAD 200 million for the Czech initiative to acquire and deliver large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine,” the ministry noted.

It is reported that an additional CAD 50 million will go towards purchasing various munitions from Canadian manufacturers.  

“The Minister of Defence also pledged CAD 100 million for the ‘Danish model,’ which supports the production of drones by the Ukrainian defense industry. Drones have become extremely important in this conflict, and the Ukrainian defense industry is showing innovation and a willingness to experiment in this area,” the agency emphasized.

Additionally, Canada announced that it has already delivered drone cameras worth approximately USD 50 million to Ukraine, as well as several shipments of winter clothing valued at around USD 23 million.

The Ministry of Defence estimated that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the total volume of Canadian military aid to Ukraine has exceeded USD 3.5 billion.

“Since late March 2022, the Royal Canadian Air Force has transported over 24 million pounds (approximately 11,000 tonnes - ed.) of military aid intended for Ukraine from Canada, allies, and partners,” the Ministry of Defence noted.

It is worth noting that Canada transports its military aid and weapons from allies from its base in Scotland, where three Canadian cargo planes and about 60 military personnel are stationed.
