Ukraine does not intend to stop the transit of Russian oil to the EU, Prime Minister Shmyhal stated in the Rada.
He emphasized that this would be a violation of the Energy Charter and the Association Agreement with the EU.
"Halting the oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline would be a direct violation by Ukraine of the Energy Charter Treaty and the Association Agreement with the EU... Such a breach of Ukraine’s international obligations in the field of transit security could serve as sufficient grounds for holding Ukraine accountable for the cessation of reliable and uninterrupted oil transit, particularly by Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, and could also lead to possible financial claims," Shmyhal stated.
