The Verkhovna Rada called for an investigation into the actions of the TRC in Kharkiv

A member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Committee on Law Enforcement, Deputy Oleksandr Bakumov, drew attention to the forceful mobilization in Kharkiv. From the parliamentary tribune, he addressed the Ukrainian military command on this matter.

The politician called the actions of the military commissioners unacceptable, especially the total roadblocks in the city to check men’s military documents. At the beginning of his speech, he expressed an understanding of the importance of implementing mobilization measures in Ukraine for stabilizing the front.

"But what is happening in Kharkiv is completely unacceptable. It is a total blocking of streets, preventing transport from even leaving. This is some kind of population filtering," he noted.

Bakumov also mentioned the beating of lawyer Yulia Palagina by TRC employees in a medical institution, who was unable to provide legal assistance to a client.

"What kind of organized crime group is this? They don’t introduce themselves, they wear balaclavas. Do we, as people’s deputies, put on balaclavas and vote secretly? Why is there such general injustice in Kharkiv?" the politician exclaimed.

He also noted that he visits different Ukrainian cities, but in Kharkiv, TRC employees act "especially." Medium and small businesses have stopped operating, and men do not go to work: the government has not developed a clear reservation procedure for them.

"General Staff, command of the Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence and Internal Affairs. I appeal on behalf of all Kharkiv residents: stop this, take it under your control, set adequate tasks for fulfilling mobilization plans. What is happening in Kharkiv, why is there total humiliation and disrespect?" he concluded.
