Employees of the SBI exposed a law enforcement officer from the Chernivtsi region who was smuggling draft dodgers to Romania for 20,000 euros. This was reported by the SBI press service.

It is reported that SBI employees, in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service, detained the law enforcement officer from the Chernivtsi region, who helped conscripted men illegally leave Ukraine.

It is known that the suspect knew about the place and time of movement of border patrols, so he promised his "clients" to personally lead them across the border on foot. He gathered those willing in a pre-arranged location and transported them in his own car to one of the border villages, near the Romanian border.

He charged 20,000 euros for smuggling one person.

“On January 16, 2025, SBI employees caught the law enforcement officer "in the act" during the transfer of money from one of the men who was attempting to leave the country,” added the agency.
