Ukraine cannot intercept the "Oreshnik" missile, - Syrskyi
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Ukraine is developing its own air defence system.
Work is also underway to create a missile system that could serve as a deterrent against Russia’s use of "Oreshnik" missiles, he emphasized in an interview with TSN. Tyzhden.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the new Russian missile "Oreshnik" is "a threat, and currently only a few air defence systems can intercept it." Ukraine does not have such systems yet, "but we must do everything possible to acquire them."
"This pushes us to create our own air defence system, which would not only be anti-aircraft but also anti-missile. It encourages us to actively negotiate with allies to acquire such a system," stated the Ukrainian military leader.
He is convinced that this should become a stimulus for the development of a modern missile system that could serve as a deterrent against the use of such weapons by the Russians.
"Work on the creation of Ukrainian air defence systems is actively underway in this direction. I hope that soon we will achieve the desired result," added Syrskyi.
