Law enforcement officers thwarted an attempt on the First Deputy Minister of Health
The capital’s police together with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a man and a woman who, according to law enforcement agencies, planned the murder of the First Deputy Minister of Health, Serhiy Dubrov.
This was reported by the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office.
It is reported that the criminals developed a detailed plan, the implementation of which took place under the control of law enforcement officers. Both suspects were detained during an attempt to purchase a gun.
During the investigation, it was established that two residents of the Kyiv region, a 36-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were preparing to murder the First Deputy Minister of Health.
For several months, they monitored the schedule and movements of the potential attack target, rented an apartment in the same residential complex, and constantly changed vehicles for stealth. In addition, the couple regularly visited a shooting range for training.
Law enforcement officers detained both criminals when they were purchasing a gun on the "black" market.
Investigators will charge the detainees under Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2, Clause 12 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - preparation for premeditated murder.
Investigators are asking the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of unconditional detention for the suspects.
