The Russians are using a new "KUB-2" kamikaze drone on the front line
The UAV "KUB-2" — a very dangerous weapon, its warhead weighs 10 kilograms.
However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already intercepted this UAV with an anti-aircraft FPV drone. The Russian defence concern "Kalashnikov" has begun supplying the occupiers with new kamikaze drones "KUB-2".
The existence of these UAVs was first officially announced by the manufacturer on January 21. The drones were created in cooperation with the "Izhevsk Unmanned Systems" design bureau. Samples with export indices "KUB-2-E" will be presented at the IDEX 2025 arms exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, which will take place from February 17 to 21.
The "KUB-2-E" of the medium class, according to the factory, has a wide range of applications. It can be used to target personnel, launch positions of complexes with UAVs, helicopter pads, unarmored and light-armored vehicles. Analysts from Defence Express note that the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already published a video on January 7, showing the interception of a "KUB-2" drone with an anti-aircraft FPV drone. But at that time, the "KUB-2" was mistakenly identified as the usual strike "Lancet".
