Ukraine allocated 2.1 trillion for security and defence, - Ministry of Finance

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance’s press service on Facebook.

«2.1 trillion UAH constituted the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget on the security and defence sector from January to December 2024. This is 59.7% of the total expenditures of the general fund of the state budget. Out of this amount, 328.1 billion UAH was spent from the state budget in December.», - the statement noted.

It is noted that in 2024, funds were allocated for:

• 1.2 trillion UAH – financial support and salaries with accruals for military personnel, officers (executive staff), police officers, and other employees;
• 627 billion UAH - purchase of military/special equipment, weapons, ammunition;
• 157 billion UAH - medical, social support and other types of expenses to ensure the activities of the relevant bodies and formations;
• 82.4 billion UAH – purchase of fuel and lubricants and personal protective equipment (helmets, bulletproof vests, other special equipment);
• 37.2 billion UAH - provision of food;
• 13.5 billion UAH - utility payments and services.

The State Budget for 2025 includes 2.23 trillion UAH for security and defence needs, which is 26.3% of Ukraine’s GDP.
