In Zakarpattia, a furniture manufacturer wants to hire 160 workers from Bangladesh

A furniture manufacturer from Zakarpattia plans to hire 160 employees from Bangladesh, announced the head of the Regional State Administration.

Negotiations on this matter are being conducted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Currently, the enterprise has 700 job positions planned, and 430 people are working. The salary is 25 thousand hryvnias.

"This is an important signal for all Zakarpattia residents – our region is actively developing, we have factories and plants that need workers. There is no need to go to European countries – decent salaries and working conditions can be found here, at home," writes the head of the Regional State Administration.

Oleh Popenko, head of the Union of Utilities Consumers, commented on the news, noting that there are "hundreds of thousands" of refugees and internally displaced persons in Ukraine who "have no jobs and are on the brink of biological survival." He questions the effectiveness of the employment service.

The employment service responded that over the past year, they have employed over 250 thousand people, including 42 thousand internally displaced persons.

"I am not aware of the situation specifically at this enterprise and am not ready to comment without a detailed study of the issue as to why, in this case, the business decided to involve migrants. But in general, the situation is this: unemployment is quickly decreasing and turning into a staffing crisis, as millions of people are at the front or abroad. The problem of attracting personnel already exists and will grow... Therefore, labor migration is inevitable," wrote Andriy Yanytskyi, head of the communications department of the State Employment Service.
