The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has launched licensed production of modern FPV drones at one of the state enterprises.
This was reported by the press service of the defence department.
"Thanks to the integration of the state into production chains, we have gained a clear understanding of the cost of drone production and our competitive advantages in this market. This will improve the quality of the final product through sustained competition," commented the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havrylyuk.
As noted, within the framework of a pilot project that started in December last year under the overall coordination of the Main Directorate of Defence Innovations of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the state gained the ability to produce codified FPV drones.
In particular, under the terms of a tripartite agreement, a private developer granted a license for the production of UAVs at one of the state enterprises under the management of the Ministry of Defence.
In addition, specialists from the Main Directorate of Defence Innovations of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine worked out a roadmap for organizing similar productions together with other developers of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
"We are ready to expand cooperation with private companies. We have a package of template documents and a step-by-step guide for launching similar UAV production lines at other state enterprises," stated the head of the Main Directorate of Defence Innovations, Yuriy Taranyuk.
