
Sweden will provide Ukraine with the largest military aid package. Its value amounts to 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $1.25 billion).
This was reported by the press service of the Swedish Ministry of Defence.
It is noted that this package will also enhance Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. Sweden plans to allocate about 1 billion Swedish kronor to enable Ukraine to produce long-range missiles and drones.
It also includes doubling the previous 16 combat boats of the CB 90 type donated to Ukraine and anti-tank weapons, as well as investments to support the Ukrainian defence industry.
The agency noted that this is already the 18th military aid package for Ukraine, bringing the total amount of packages provided since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion to about 61.9 billion Swedish kronor (over $5.6 billion).
Overall, the aid package announced on Thursday consists of eight components, the largest of which is various procurements of the latest equipment, mainly from Swedish and other European defence sectors, for transfer to Ukraine.
