In Odesa, the body of a child was discovered in a freezer

In Odesa, law enforcement officers discovered an infant in a freezer. The body of a child, aged 1 year and 3 months, was found in an apartment in the Peresyp district.

Another child, a two-year-old girl, has been removed from the family and temporarily placed in a hospital. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement, the child lived with her one-year-older sister, an 18-year-old mother, and her 44-year-old repeatedly convicted partner. The police removed the girl from the family and sent her to the hospital for examination. Investigators are working with the deceased boy’s mother and her partner.

Forensic experts from the investigative department of the National Police Office in the Odesa region are working at the scene of the tragedy with a mobile DNA laboratory and an investigative task force from police station No. 2 of the Odesa district police department No. 1.

Information on this matter has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under clause 2 part 2 article 115 (premeditated murder of a minor child) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The boy’s body has been sent for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigative actions continue, and all details are being established. The Suvorovsky district prosecutor’s office of the city of Odesa is overseeing the legal proceedings.
