Monitoring of card transfers will be constant, – Hetmantsev

Financial monitoring will become a permanent process, not a temporary measure.

This was stated in an interview with Ukrainian News by Member of Parliament from the "Servant of the People" faction, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy Danylo Hetmantsev.

"Financial monitoring is not a temporary phenomenon nor a repressive step to catch a ’villain’ and stop his abuses. It is an ongoing process that will accompany our financial system as part of the civilized world over time if we strive to be part of the civilized European space," he noted.

Hetmantsev has set his goal to change the social contract that tolerated tax evasion and corruption.

He named the implementation of financial monitoring, particularly the control of card transactions, as one of the stages of this change.

He emphasized that this is a common practice encountered by everyone who opens accounts in Europe.

"This is a constant activity aimed at preventing abuses in cashless payments to combat drug trafficking, illegal trade, and even terrorism. Let me remind you that our country is in a state of war. However, the further development of restrictions now primarily depends on the commercial banks that implement them. It is their right to establish such restrictions. And I am very grateful to the banks for their responsible, state-oriented position in fighting illegal payments," he added.
