A Ukrainian woman received the prestigious Interstudent-2025 award as the best foreign student in Poland

Kateryna Fadyeyeva, a student at Jagiellonian University in Krakow and originally from Donetsk, received the prestigious Interstudent-2025 award as the best international student in Poland.

The award ceremony took place on January 30, 2025, at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre during the annual conference “Foreign Students in Poland”.

Kateryna is a third-year student in the International Relations and Area Studies (IRAS) program at the Faculty of International and Political Studies. She actively participates in scientific research and prestigious international projects. She led her team to victory in the Students for a United and Resilient Europe competition, took part in the Nordic Debate Championship and the European Student Assembly in Strasbourg. Moreover, she was the leader of the "Young European Ambassadors" program.

Dr. Dominika Dziwisz, who recommended Kateryna for the award, emphasized her outstanding abilities: “Kateryna is a talented, determined, and inspiring student. It is a great honor for me to work with such an exceptional person. This award once again confirms that she is one of the most promising students in Poland. She has a brilliant future ahead in the field of international relations.”

Kateryna herself admits that she not only takes pride in her university but also feels a connection with Krakow: “I am glad that I chose this country, this city, and this university—it has given me the opportunity to participate in important discussions and learn from people with different perspectives.”

Interstudent is a competition that has been selecting the best international students studying in Poland for 15 years in a row. The winners are determined in three categories: undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate. Kateryna became the best among undergraduate students.
