On February 6, the Energy Customs of the State Customs Service completed the clearance of the first customs declaration for the export of biomethane.
This was reported by the customs press service on Facebook.
"On 06.02.2025, the Energy Customs successfully completed the clearance of the periodic customs declaration for the movement across the customs border of Ukraine of the first batch of biomethane for export to Europe via pipeline transport," the report states.
It is noted that the export of biomethane opens new prospects for the agro-industrial sector and investors in the bioenergy industry. This gas is produced from organic waste, which promotes the development of agriculture.
"Ukraine has great potential for the production of biomethane and can become an important supplier of green energy to the European market. We are taking another step towards sustainable energy development and economic growth," emphasized the Energy Customs.
As reported, by early January, Ukrainian producers had already injected the first million cubic meters of biomethane into underground gas storage facilities.
