A multirole assault aircraft of the aggressor state, Su-25, was shot down in the Toretsk direction (Donetsk region) on Saturday, February 8, by soldier Pavlo Zhalko of the 57th Separate Battalion of the 104th Rivne Regional Territorial Defence Brigade. The military used the "Igla" MANPADS for the strike.

This was reported in the Regional Military Administration (RMA). It was noted that he acted as part of a command group together with the anti-aircraft missile unit of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

"A sniper from Dubenshchyna sent a Russian plane to hell. Today, in the sky over Bakhmut region, a Russian Su-25 tried to break through and attack Ukrainian positions. However, our fighters are not intimidated," RMA of Rivne reported.

They emphasized that the anti-aircraft gunner, soldier Pavlo Zhalko of the 57th Separate Battalion of the 104th Rivne Regional Territorial Defence Brigade, together with the anti-aircraft missile unit of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, timely detected the target.
