Drohobych Mayor Kuchma fined for disrupting mobilization, court rejected his appeal

The mayor of Drohobych, Taras Kuchma, was fined 36,000 hryvnias for failing to fulfill the mobilization plan.

He refused to voluntarily appear at the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC) to receive the order, after which the military enlistment office sent a request to the police for his forced appearance. Kuchma later came on his own.

The politician stated that on the day of the TRSSC summons he had official events, including the funeral of a fallen soldier. He disagreed with the decision and intended to appeal it, noting that local authorities do not have the power to forcibly send citizens to military enlistment offices.

However, the court denied Kuchma’s appeal, and now he is obliged to pay the fine. The mayor of Medenychi, Mykhaylo Zhyvchyn, received the same punishment, as he also tried to appeal the order, but the court sided with the military enlistment office.
