The Russians captured Ulakly in the Andriivka "pocket" on the Kurakhove direction, with not all Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen able to leave the area.

This was reported by military correspondent Miroshnykov.

“Unfortunately, not everyone was able to leave Ulakly. There are dead and captured. This could have been avoided if an order to exit the pocket had been given in time. However, this was not done. General Tarnavskyi, as the commander of the Donetsk operational tactical unit, needs good reports upwards stating that ‘we control everything there.’ But in reality, control over the situation was lost about two weeks ago. And the further it went, the more the situation escalated,” he wrote.

“And here is the question—if the operational situation after the loss of part of Andriivka indicated the possibility of encirclement, why was the operational tactical unit so persistently unwilling to evacuate the garrison? Why was the situation allowed to reach a critical state?” the military correspondent added.
