The Swedish government announced the delivery of air defence systems (ADS) to Ukraine worth 1.2 billion kronor (approximately 113 million dollars).
This information is reported by Svenska Dagbladet.
In an article for the newspaper, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch, and Minister of Education Johan Persson stated that on the anniversary of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the delivery of the ADS will be announced.
The article says: "We can now announce the purchase of air defense systems worth a total of 1.2 billion kronor to be delivered to Ukraine as a gift."
"Due to the increasing frequency of Russian missile strikes and attacks using drones and bombs, there is an urgent need for Ukraine’s air defense systems," the article states.
It is reported that Stockholm will deliver the Robot 70 and Tridon Mk2 systems. The Robot 70 system is a proven complex that has been developed and enhanced. And the Tridon Mk2 is capable of countering massive attacks using simple drones and missiles.
