The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) rejected the motion to change the preventive measure for Member of Parliament Viktor Bondar and kept him in custody.
The alternative option in the form of bail in the amount of 100 million UAH remained unchanged, however, the funds have not been deposited into the court’s account.
Bondar is suspected of co-organizing the embezzlement of 140 million UAH from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia". According to the investigation, he is involved in corruption schemes in the field of state procurement, through which funds of the state enterprise were embezzled.
Earlier, the HACC ruled to keep Bondar in custody, which he appealed, but the court did not satisfy his appeal. Thus, the MP will remain in the detention center at least until March 16, 2024, unless bail is posted.
