The Verkhovna Rada welcomes the peace negotiations initiated by Trump
The Council published an appeal to Trump, Congress, and the people of the United States.
Key points from the appeal:
- The Ukrainian people want peace more than anyone else and believe that Trump’s personal role and his peace efforts will be decisive in the rapid cessation of hostilities;
- The Council welcomes Trump’s initiatives in launching the negotiation process;
- The Verkhovna Rada emphasizes the need for further development of the strategic partnership with the USA, especially in the field of mineral resource development;
- Ukraine must remain an independent and sovereign state, and the Ukrainian people should remain free and unconquered.
