At the March session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), 47 member states of the agency delivered a joint statement regarding nuclear safety, security, and safeguards in Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

In their statement, the IAEA member states affirmed their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned Russia’s illegal seizure of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, as well as attacks on Ukraine’s nuclear infrastructure facilities.

"Ukrainian nuclear facilities must operate safely and securely under the full sovereign control of Ukraine," — the statement said.

Main points of the IAEA member states’ statement:

The countries called on Russia to withdraw all unauthorized military and auxiliary personnel from the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and to return the plant to the full control of the competent Ukrainian regulatory authorities.
