In the composition of the Unmanned Systems Forces, a women’s unit has been formed
In the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems, the creation of a female unit "Harpies" has been initiated, where volunteers will perform combat missions using UAVs and ground drones.
This was announced on a television broadcast by Olha Melyoshyna, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems.
"The idea for creating the unit originated with the commander of the ’Harpies’ unit, Dariya, pseudonym ’DShK’. The commander hopes that female servicemembers who wish to join the Unmanned Systems Forces will be particularly useful in combat roles, specifically as pilots," she informed.
The spokesperson noted that volunteers will undergo basic general military training lasting 45 days before commencing service in the unit.
After that, the women will undergo specialized training for 30-45 days, depending on the equipment they choose for performing combat tasks.
