Russia has intensified its information operation against Ukraine, - intelligence
The Foreign Intelligence Service has recorded the activation of a hostile information operation led by Russia against Ukraine.
This was reported on the website of the FISU
As noted, the goal of the operation is the destruction of Ukrainian statehood "not on the battlefield, but in the minds of people" through the delegitimization of the Ukrainian government, the devaluation of democratic institutions, and the imposition of an external political scenario with elements of controlled capitulation.
The operation is being conducted with the use of resources from Russian special services under the overall coordination of Vladimir Putin’s administration.
According to intelligence, the essence of the hostile operation lies in presenting "peace initiatives" and "analytical discourse" to impose on Ukrainian and international society the belief that:
- The Ukrainian government has evidently lost legitimacy due to the non-conduct of elections during martial law;
- There is a need for a "temporary administration" under the auspices of the UN, USA, EU, or even in a "quartet format" with Russia;
- It is impossible for Russia to conclude a peace agreement with the Ukrainian government, which, according to the enemy, should become a casus belli for a change in political course.
According to intelligence officers, Russia employs the following methods to implement its plans:
- Formally Western or "neutral" media serving as proxies for Russian theses;
- Anonymous Telegram channels posing as "insiders" within the Armed Forces or political leadership;
- A coordinated wave of emotional videos on TikTok and YouTube with narratives like "The West no longer supports Ukraine," "we were deceived," "changes in government are needed," as well as "time for change," "a different government is needed for peace";
- Mass dissemination of destructive materials with unified theses on social networks involving bot networks and accounts linked to pro-Russian structures in Europe and Latin America, which publish pseudo-documents, statements, and "analytical memos" questioning the authority of the Ukrainian government;
- Citing pro-Russian "experts" with titles such as "former diplomats," "independent political analysts," "UN veterans," who promote the thesis that "even the West needs a different Ukraine";
- Using Ukrainian participants in treason cases to legitimize narratives (including publications and comments from representatives of former pro-Russian political structures).
"These actions are accompanied by the infiltration of Kremlin narratives into the influence structures of Ukraine’s partner countries, particularly through organizing public ’discussions’ on topics of government legitimacy, negotiation prospects without Ukraine’s participation, and the supposed ’loss of trust’ in Kyiv."
