In the north of the Kharkiv region, the occupiers attempted a massive attack on the Defence Forces’ positions for the first time in a long period.
This was reported by Volodymyr Dehtyaryov, the head of the public relations service of the 13th National Guard Brigade "Khartiia," during a broadcast of "Suspilne. Studio." reported
"This week has seen a change in the situation. For the first time in a long while, there was an attempt at a rather massive assault, which was still carried out on foot," he noted.
Dehtyaryov emphasized that intelligence operatives detected the assault attempt in time before the Russians could gather. Thanks to this, Ukrainian defenders were able to plan how to strike the enemy before their approach to the advanced positions of the Armed Forces infantry.
The Russian infantry losses on the section controlled by "Khartiia" have exceeded 120 military personnel since the beginning of April, with 80 of them being irretrievable. Several dozen Russian soldiers were also captured.
"About half of them are units recruited from prisons. Their motivation is simple: to gain freedom by signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence. The second category is average Russians who go to war hoping to quickly improve their financial situation," the spokesperson added.
