General Staff: After the strike on Sumy, Russia will face anger, punishment, and losses

On Palm Sunday, Russia carried out a strike on the peaceful residents of Sumy. Ukraine will respond decisively — the enemy will feel our wrath and retribution.

This was reported with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"On the day of the great Christian holiday, Palm Sunday, Russian troops once again committed a crime against humanity: they launched a strike with ballistic missiles on the center of the city of Sumy. Dozens of civilians were killed and injured," the headquarters noted.

Ukrainian military officials pointed out that having failed to achieve strategic success on the battlefield, Russian occupiers are once again resorting to their usual tactics.

"(Russia, - ed.) is waging war against the civilian population, blatantly violating international law, the laws, and customs of war. Russia once again demonstrates: it does not seek peace. Its goal — is to sow fear. But Russia will only meet our wrath and inevitable retribution," the General Staff stated.

The military emphasized that the response to Russian aggression will be harsh.

"We will destroy the occupiers, their military facilities, weapons, and equipment — wherever they are located. Russian war crimes have no statute of limitations. The criminals must receive just punishment," they added in the headquarters.
