Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha announced that Ukraine is developing its own strategic air defence system.
He stated this during his speech at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
The minister proposed that EU partners invest in the development of Ukrainian air defence to accelerate its implementation. He also urged allies to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence support and provide additional systems, missiles, and spare parts.
Additionally, Sybiha spoke about the impact of Russian ballistic missile strikes on Sumy and the previous strike on Kryvyi Rih, expressing gratitude to partners for their solidarity.
"Putin will go deeper into Europe and closer to your homes if he is not stopped in Ukraine. This is the reality. And we do not want your countries to ever witness strikes with cluster ballistic missiles on residential areas or playgrounds. That is why it is necessary to act now to achieve peace, to strengthen Ukraine, and to increase pressure on Moscow," he noted.
