In Donbas, North Korean SAUs were discovered: TDF soldiers destroyed a Koksan howitzer
Ukrainian warriors destroyed a rare North Korean-made self-propelled artillery unit, the M1989 Koksan, which was used by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region. The strike on the SAU was carried out by several FPV drones while the equipment was on a firing position in the forest belt.
Footage of the combat operation was published on April 14 by the Muramasa channel of the 109th Separate Brigade of Territorial Defence. The video captures the moment the enemy artillery system was hit.
The position of the North Korean SAU was identified by aerial scouts from the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Aerial Systems "Madjar Birds." Strike drones DYKYIRIZ XL were used for the attack.
"The SAU, ’Katsapavozka’ and a motorcycle — these were our targets. The revenge for Sumy will be fierce," the fighters wrote.
Koksan in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces: losses continue
According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia received about 120 M1989 Koksan units from the DPRK, and expects to receive at least the same additional batch. The transfer of equipment by train was recorded in November-December 2024.
