Situation on the Frontline: The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 10 Russian attacks in the Kursk region

As of 16:00, April 19, there have been 59 combat clashes on the front line today. The majority of the battles occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions.

This information became known from the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy Shelling

The General Staff reported that today, as a result of Russian artillery and mortar shelling, communities of the following settlements suffered:

• Ulanove, Lezhachi, Taratutine, Stepok, Prokhody, Rev’yakyne, Petrushivka, Novodmytrivka, Pokrovka, Tur’ya in the Sumy region;
• Luhivka, Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region;
• Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region.

In addition, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Ryasne, Velykyi Prykil, Stepok, and Myropilske in the Sumy region.

Situation on the Fronts

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units near Vovchansk once.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian occupiers conducted five attacks near Zahryzove, Kindrashivka, and Petropavlivka. Two combat clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, during the day, the enemy army conducted six attacks on the positions of Ukrainian soldiers near Novomykhailivka and in the direction of the settlements of Hrekivka, Hlushchenkove, and Olhivka. Three battles are ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to break through our defence in the areas of Toretsk, Dachne, and towards Dyliivka. The defence forces repelled all nine enemy assaults.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian occupiers have made 13 attempts to displace Ukrainian defenders from occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Novotoretske, Svyrydoniivka, Malynivka, Shevchenko, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Kotlyarivka, and Andriivka. The defence forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught — seven attacks have already been repelled, and six battles are ongoing.

In the Novopavlivsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy assaults. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Kostiantynopol, Pryvilne, and Novosilka.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Novodarivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupiers conducted three attacks in the direction of Mala Tokmachka and near Novoandriivka. Airstrikes affected Lukyanivske, Pavlivka, Stepnohorsk, Kamyanske, and Novoyakovlivka.

In the Siversk, Kramatorsk, and Prydniprovsk directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions today.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Ukrainian soldiers repelled ten enemy attacks today, and two more battles are ongoing. The enemy aviation in this direction carried out ten strikes, dropping 13 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy carried out 196 artillery shellings, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.

No significant changes have been recorded in other directions.
