President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with American journalist Ben Shapiro that Ukraine seeks to achieve peace "through strength" with the support of its strategic partner — the USA.
“We consider the United States a strong strategic ally with real influence and want to achieve peace through strength. This is necessary for Russia — the aggressor — to feel this power,” Zelenskyy said.
Among other key points of the interview:
Ukraine has already received assistance from the USA amounting to around $105 billion, including weaponry and other security means.
Zelenskyy emphasized: “I respect Trump’s aspiration for peace. But it is unacceptable to say that Ukraine started the war. It is painful for our people to hear.”
The President also expressed hopes for “more fruitful meetings” with Donald Trump in the future.
According to him, the Russian idea of destroying the USA dates back to the USSR times: “This is what they instilled in us even in school. And today we are fighting for your rights just as we are for our own.”
