The EU will provide €1.9 billion for weapons for Ukraine from the proceeds of Russian assets — Shmyhal.
This is the first time that funds for armaments will be provided from the income of frozen Russian assets.
€1 billion will be allocated for the purchase of Ukrainian weapons, another €600+ million for artillery and ammunition, and more than €200 million for air defence.
The procurement coordination is ensured by Denmark, France, the Netherlands, and Italy.
