On May 15, 2025, negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation are scheduled to take place in Turkey, where President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects dictator Putin to attend in person.
The Ukrainian delegation heading to Istanbul will include other government representatives. According to Radio NV, citing sources close to the president, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, plans to go there.
The Minister of Defence, Rustem Umyerov, and Zelenskyy’s diplomatic advisor, Ihor Zhovkva, also plan to visit Turkey. Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, is already there.
However, it is still unclear whether negotiations with the Russian Federation will take place:
"The decision regarding the format and conduct of the negotiations will be personally made by the president tomorrow in Turkey," emphasized the source.
It is reported that during his visit to Turkey, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also plans to hold a meeting with the country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
