The Armed Forces of Ukraine showed how they upgraded the Austrian off-road vehicle Pinzgauer
The 110th Territorial Defence Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine upgraded an Austrian Pinzgauer off-roader, which was created back in the 1960s. Although the model is old, it has proven to be a reliable vehicle and, as the soldiers report, it has never let them down.

"A very reliable vehicle, although not the most comfortable. There is little space, no armor, but it is reliable. In half a year of operation, it has never let us down. It has never gotten stuck. We used it in very difficult conditions, but it never got stuck. Unlike tracked vehicles, this one is much quieter, and that is very important," shares Dmytro, the commander of the vehicle maintenance section of the VMTZ.
After receiving the off-roader, the brigade adapted it for combat conditions. They added metal sheets on top and in front, as well as protection against "petal" mines. A bumper and a "grill" were installed in front to counter enemy drones. In addition, the vehicle was equipped with an electronic warfare system and an infrared headlight for night vision devices.
"Currently, we are operating in the Zaporizhzhya direction. We use the off-roader to transport equipment to the front line. We evacuate the wounded and those killed. We also deliver construction materials for fortifications, logs, food, and everything necessary," says the section commander.
The Pinzgauer can carry up to 2 tons of cargo, and its 103 horsepower engine allows it to travel at speeds of 30-40 km/h even in bad weather.
"The main task of the partner is to protect the vehicle and everyone in it from drones when we set off on a mission. This is done with the electronic warfare device. The vehicle crew is a team! We trust each other," says Yuriy, the commander of the logistics platoon.
