Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Berlin on Wednesday, May 28. There, he will hold meetings with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
This is reported by Spiegel.
According to the publication, Merz intends to discuss with Zelenskyy the possible steps for future technical negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. He will also inform about the new EU sanctions package against Russians aimed at increasing pressure on Moscow to initiate serious negotiations.
Further military assistance to Ukraine is also likely to be discussed.
According to Spiegel, despite Merz’s reluctance to publicly speak about new aid to Kyiv, discussions will continue behind the scenes on how Germany can support the Ukrainian defense industry in producing long-range weaponry.
