Zelenskyy announced the creation of a special award for children — "Future of Ukraine"
According to the president, it will be awarded to the bravest boys and girls — "those who helped save people, who showed extraordinary resilience, and of whom we can all be proud."
According to the Sumy City Council, one of the first to receive it will be 13-year-old Kyrylo Illyashenko. In April, during a rocket attack on the city, he helped passengers escape from a burning bus.
Kyrylo himself was also injured — three fragments hit his head. The teenager has already undergone surgery, after which he recovered and returned to competitions — he even managed to distinguish himself at the European Beach Wrestling Championships.
