Vodafone has started blocking numbers for non-payment of the tariff

The mobile operator Vodafone has started blocking mobile phone numbers due to non-payment of the tariff. You can restore the number only after topping up your account.

This is reported by the correspondent of Telegraf.

It is indicated that the number is blocked literally the next day after the tariff expires.

That is, if you miss the day of topping up or did not plan to do it, the number will still be blocked. Moreover, the operator, when reminding about the tariff expiration, does not mention the blocking of the number.

"Your number is temporarily blocked due to a low balance. To restore services, please pay the debt," the message says.

It should be noted that the correspondent paid for the new tariff even before the number was blocked, yet Vodafone still blocked it. The operator did not receive the funds in its account, and only 30 minutes after the payment, the number was unblocked.

However, there is another very unpleasant nuance in this situation. It will not be possible to top up the account using mobile internet, as it will not work while the number is blocked. Previously, Vodafone allowed daily payments for only mobile internet without purchasing the full tariff. Currently, such operator policy creates a lot of discomfort, especially for pensioners who may not always be able to top up the phone in time.

Moreover, if the number is blocked, no one can call, meaning that a pensioner may not even know that their number is inactive. On the Vodafone portal, it is indicated that the number is blocked for exceeding the credit limit if the phone is not topped up. Each user has their own limit, which can be changed in the app, which is problematic for pensioners. To avoid blocking, the operator recommends connecting auto-recharge or purchasing a subscription-based tariff immediately for a year.

It turns out that Vodafone practically eliminates the option not to top up the phone, as without an active tariff, the number will be blocked. And in this case, it makes no difference whether it concerns pensioners or children.
