Zelenskyy: The Russian delegation in Istanbul has practically admitted the abduction of Ukrainian children

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that during the negotiations in Istanbul on June 2, the Russian delegation effectively acknowledged the abduction of children.

The head of state stated this during a briefing broadcast by "Suspilne".

According to the president, when the Ukrainian delegation pointed out that Russia had abducted 20,000 people, the Russians disputed the number but not the fact itself. As Zelenskyy explained, the Russian delegation responded that it was "at most about hundreds" of children taken away.

"It’s important not just in terms of the quantity but as a fixation of the fact that they acknowledge they have abducted children. We believe it’s thousands, while they say it’s about hundreds. It’s important that this fact is recorded," Zelenskyy emphasized.
