The state has regained control over the House of Trade Unions: the seizure was doubled after the raider attempt

The National Agency for Finding and Management of Assets (ARMA), the Office of the Prosecutor General, and the State Bureau of Investigation successfully defended state interests by achieving the re-arrest of the Trade Unions House. This became possible after the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv decided on June 3 to partially lift the arrest from this property, which belongs to the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. The information emerged against the backdrop of recent news about an attempted raider seizure of the building.

Previously, two separate arrests were imposed on the building in 2022 and 2023, ARMA reminded. Despite the cancellation of one of them, operational actions allowed for the immediate return of the asset under full state control, the agency emphasized.

"ARMA, in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation, did not allow the arrested Trade Unions House to return to its owner. Arrest doubled!" the statement said.

ARMA head Olena Duma emphasized the importance of this event. She added that, despite the temporary lifting of one arrest, the transfer of property management to ARMA remained valid.

"The state continues to systematically act to maintain control over this strategically important asset. The arrested property will work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people and its defenders, not for specific individuals or structures," Duma stated.

ARMA reminded that the new manager of the Trade Unions House, selected through a competitive process, will be required to transfer 89.85% of the received income to the State Budget of Ukraine. In addition, they will guarantee fixed monthly payments regardless of the actual profitability of the management.

This step further confirmed the state’s determination to protect its property. Recall that an attempted illegal seizure of the Trade Unions House was recorded on May 22, accompanied by the use of force and threats with weapons. ARMA immediately responded by contacting law enforcement agencies with a statement about obstructing access to the legitimate manager.
