The High Anti-Corruption Court approved the agreement between the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and former Defence Intelligence of Ukraine General Oleksiy Bakumenko, finding him guilty of illegally acquiring state-owned housing worth 3.8 million UAH.
According to the investigation, Bakumenko, having concealed the existence of property owned by him and his wife, illegally obtained a new state-owned apartment. After divorcing in 2021, he continued to live with his ex-wife and later applied for new housing, which he subsequently privatized in 2022, failing to declare the appropriate information.
The court found the general guilty under Part 2 of Article 410 and Article 366-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine but, applying Article 75 of the Criminal Code, released him from serving the sentence, imposing a one-year probation period.
According to the agreement, the apartment must be returned to the state’s ownership, and Bakumenko must pay 750,000 UAH to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
