Syrskyi promises an exit from the "stalemate defence": The Armed Forces have plans

The Armed Forces of Ukraine combine defensive actions with active offensive operations in various directions of the front. To achieve this, assault units are created and expanded.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a meeting with journalists.

As Syrskyi stated, the focus is on combining defensive actions with active defence and localized offensives, which allows maintaining positions and striking where the enemy is weaker.

According to him, passive defence under current conditions leads only to losses - both of territories and personnel.

"Therefore, we combine defensive actions with active defence and active offensive actions. That is, where possible, we strike at the enemy and conduct counterattacks. We advance where we see weak spots in the enemy’s defence," he said.

Syrskyi reported that separate assault units were created for the implementation of this active tactic. They appeared during the Kursk operation and are now fighting in almost all the most tense areas.

These units operate both at the stage of the offensive and during the containment of the enemy, for example, in the Sumy region.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have plans to expand these units.

Let us remind you that the enemy is conducting assault actions with the aim of creating a so-called buffer zone in the border areas of the Sumy region, attempting to capture Yunakivka and improve their tactical position in the areas of Andriivka and Oleksiivka.

According to the Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, two airborne divisions, four main brigades, the 177th Marine Regiment of the Caspian Flotilla, and other units remain concentrated in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna direction.
