Iran’s decision to help Russia has brought destruction to Ukraine and other countries. This must stop and should not be exacerbated with nuclear weapons.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state reported that today he was briefed on the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region following the U.S. strikes on the facilities of the Iranian regime’s nuclear program.
Zelenskyy reminded that this regime has provided significant assistance to the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He mentioned that another wave of "Shaheds" is now in the Ukrainian sky, and "we all remember well where Russia got such weapons from."
The President emphasized that Iran’s decisions to assist Russia have led to massive destruction in our Ukraine and many other countries, as well as enormous human losses. And, as Zelenskyy stressed, this must stop.
"And it really must stop. And it really should not be compounded by nuclear weapons. There must be no nuclear proliferation in the modern world. This needs to be emphasized. It’s important that there is American determination on this issue - President Trump’s determination. It should also be emphasized that diplomacy must work," said the head of state.
Zelenskyy stressed that diplomacy should work everywhere. In the Middle East, in the Gulf region, and here with us, in Europe, in Ukraine.
He noted that if Putin rejects all peace proposals, including those from the United States, then it’s no wonder they are being rejected in Tehran too. However, everyone must feel the strength of international solidarity.
"But all of them must feel what the power of international solidarity is like and the inadmissibility of any spread of terror. Real and long-term security is needed - truly reliable security," concluded the President.
