The taxi driver who hit Antonina Matviyenko has been notified of suspicion

A taxi driver who assaulted a Merited Artist of Ukraine has been charged.

This was reported by the Kyiv police.

"Let us remind you, the incident occurred on June 30 around 3:00 PM in the Pechersk district of the capital. At that time, a singer (referring to Antonina Matvienko, - ed.) contacted the police and reported that a taxi driver, whose services she was using, struck her several times during a conflict, and then left the scene.

Operatives from the Pechersk Police Department quickly identified the driver and detained him. The offender was found to be a 63-year-old local resident.

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Pechersk District Prosecutor’s Office, charged the suspect under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional minor bodily injury. The offender faces correctional work for up to one year," the Kyiv police noted.
