Zelenskyy congratulated the citizens on Statehood Day: "This is a phenomenon of the Ukrainian people"

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the citizens of Ukraine on Statehood Day. The Head of State stated that in Ukraine life always triumphs and values and our character prevail.

The president also assured that Ukrainians have always been on this land, are here, and will always be here. Zelenskyy posted a video address on the occasion of Statehood Day on his Telegram channel.

According to the president, this day testifies to all stages of the Ukrainian state and what unites dozens of generations – those who lived on this land a thousand years ago and those who live now.

"And life always triumphs on this land, values and our character prevail. The best in our people, who, despite the war, tears, and pain, have preserved their humanity, care for one another, and thus preserve their state," Zelenskyy noted.

The president noted that for 1238 days now, Ukrainians have demonstrated to the whole world courage, resilience, and bravery in the fight against the enemy. Zelenskyy also emphasized that despite all the difficulties, Ukrainians believe that they will overcome all the challenges.

"We often hear from partners: ’How do your people manage this? Such strength, endurance, resilience...’ They say: ’This is the phenomenon of the Ukrainian people.’ Yes, these are pleasant words, but today Ukrainians hold on not for this, not for loud epithets addressed to us. We are simply people who defend our home, our home, and we cannot do otherwise, because we do not want otherwise. We do not want Russia to be here. That’s the whole truth," the president stated.

According to Zelenskyy, the daily struggle of the Ukrainian people is not routine but a great cause carried out by millions of Ukrainians: heroes at the front, those who hold positions, who shoot down missiles and "Shaheds" every night, who extinguish fires and clear debris, and every citizen who stands strong in these challenging times.

"I thank you. Millions of Ukrainians. Millions of characters that make up our state. Our people. Our history. And the path from the baptism of Kyivan Rus to today. The day of our statehood and the experience of each generation that helps us today to stand firm, believe in ourselves, believe in Ukraine, believe that we can," the president noted.
