The head of NABU, Semen Kryvonos, gave his comments regarding the adoption of Bill No. 12414 by parliament.

He spoke about this during a briefing.

«Now you clearly understand what happened. Now, in fact, thanks to the votes of 263 deputies, the anti-corruption system has been destroyed. What was created in response to the demands of the Euromaidan, the expectations of society, and the need to fight corruption at high levels was destroyed today by representatives, particularly among regional deputies in parliament. These are the ones against whom NABU and SAPO have issued suspicions», — he noted.

In Kryvonos’s opinion, these individuals acted in a conflict of interest.

«In fact, a threat to our country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations is now being created. That is, the two independent organizations — NABU and SAPO — are now essentially moving into a dependent mode. We are categorically against this. There is still the decision of the President of Ukraine, and we urge him not to sign this bill, to return it with the appropriate veto. We clearly want to see Ukraine as progressive, we want a strong anti-corruption system», — he added.
