The city council is against Markushyn: the mayor of Irpin lost his position after a scandalous trip

The Irpin City Council expressed no confidence and voted for the early resignation of Mayor Markushyn, who traveled to Italy to visit his son during the war, reports Suspilne.

Markushyn himself calls this a "raider seizure of Irpin." According to him, the management of the city wants to be transferred to the city council secretary Anzhela Makeyeva, whom he refers to as "person of Karplyuk" - the former mayor of the city.

According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022, Markushyn went to Italy under the guise of volunteering, but in reality, to visit his two-year-old son. Markushyn claims that he left Ukraine for a few days to collect drones for the military and also to attend his son’s birthday. He had the right to travel abroad as a single father.
